Shader Programming; I'm smart!

New semester, new classes!

Surprisingly, Shader Programming is actually... fun. I like that it's a more science-y direction. The first assignment is to model and shade a realistic fruit. So far, I've got my noise, displacement, color, and spec maps. Again, it's actually pretty cool!

Grim Grinning Ghosts

Another Comic Con piece! I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while; Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as the three hitchhiking ghosts of the Haunted Mansion.

Come visit me at Salt Lake Comic Con September 4-6, Booth Green 23!

Also, happy belated 45th birthday to the Haunted Mansion!

Aye, the Force is strong with this one.

After many hours of work, I finally finished another piece for Salt Lake Comic Con this September! Introducing Jedi Merida! Because you know that deep down, you really wanted to see it. And just for fun, I posted my process.
SKETCHING. Nothing is more important than starting off with a sketch. I usually trace over my line work in photoshop to help preserve the original idea I had.
After completing the basic line work, I started some basic painting, mainly to see where I want the color palette to go and what looks best. I also played with lighting.

After settling on a color palette, I refined the painting and added some more details, i.e. the family crest, blush on the face, etc. I also changed up my lighting and refined that.

After some more tweaking and finally deciding that it was too much to paint a tartan design on a time crunch, the piece is completed!

Animals

.... Oh yeah. I draw. Fancy that. And they're cute animals for a video game I'm working on. With BYU. And NASA. Pretty cool stuff.

Sirius-ly

Good ol' Wizarding Wednesdays are back... hopefully. I'd like to keep up this summer.

This week's challenge was Sirius Black. I'm planning on making a Harry Potter card set for all who are interested!

Yes, Some More of This

Can't tell you how much I've been loving getting into this genderbend art. It's a fun exercise and, well, just plain fun!
These are my genderbends of the 11th and 9th Doctors, along with Rose Tyler (Ross... Tyler?) and 10.

You Roxas My Soxas!

Anyone else remember this being the go-to line when Kingdom Hearts II came out? I know it was among me and all my 12-14 year old friends at the time!

I'll be making some stickers of this September's Salt lake Comic Con!
